The owners of this incredible property in Mulmur, Ontario have a deep love for all animals, and many of them, from peacocks to miniature ponies, roam the property. Kate wanted to bring the lively, fun-filled, action-packed energy of the property into the house. To achieve this, Kate mixed a variety of fabrics and textures, giving each room its own distinct look. Walking through this house, you are filled with excitement and fascination as you eagerly anticipate the next room.
Some highlights include the tartan fabric covered walls. The family’s traditional tartan was sent to a tartan making factory in Scotland to create actual wool tartan wall coverings. The pink girls bedroom room is inspired by an Indian palace, perfect for the two girls who share this luscious room to daydream and play. Canadian artist Michele Jones was commissioned to paint the white washed Indian mual on the pink walls. Kate’s Medallion pillows, based on the design of her Medallion rug, are used in two different colourways; first in navy and orange, and then in pink and green. The Union Jack rug in the map bedroom and the orange rug in the pink bedroom are also custom rugs designed by Kate. They have been made in durable wool flat-weave, in order to withstand the many children and animals that cross over them. Kate’s products are all custom made to perfectly fit the design and needs of any room.
